FLOW TRANSDUCERS Gainin g control over runaway air usage with flow transducers can eliminate one of the biggest maintenance problems in pressurization systems. Proper analysis of pressure and flow can enhance dispatching accuracy. When installed in a pressurization system, flow transducers can pinpoint (often to the exact manhole) the high consumption leaks that can pull a whole system down. The Type J4 passive flow transducer does not require power pair. Detroit Switch’s J4 flow transducer represents an innovative design for improved monitoring of pressurized telephone cable systems. Designed to monitor changes in air flow as small as 0.25 SCFH, the J4 flow transducer facilitates the detection of leaks in the cable system, thereby simplifying maintenance and repair of the pressurized cable system. The J4 flow transducer converts gas (air) flow to an electrical resistance signal which can be remotely read by any of the automatic monitoring systems in use today.
