Our position is that regardless of the type of equipment you may need, we are able to provide these products, along with services, installations and etc. The primary type of activity that we participate in pertains to Cable Pressurization and Monitoring. We will perform our services anywhere there is a request. A. Provide Air Dryers, Meter Panels, and associated products utilized in the Central Office for Cable Pressurization. B. Provide Computers and associated products for Mechanized Monitoring of Cable Pressure Systems. C. Installation of the same type of equipment or rearrangement and upgrading of existing equipment for turnkey air pressure systems inside and outside plant. D. Turn Key job of “Cable Pressure Monitoring Systems” inside and outside plant. E. “Repair and Return Program” Products and equipment used to maintain air pressure systems for inside and outside plant. F. Preventive routine maintenance on Air Dryers; Trouble repair calls; Assistance by telephone with Air Dryer problems; Maintain most all small parts for any and all types of Air Dryers. G. Provide all air pressure products and services for the Central Office and outside plant utilized in the field by the Cable Repair Personnel.

H. Pre-assemble in our shop and ship Bay Assemblies and etc., with Meter Panels for Air Distribution Systems. I. Upgrade and place in proper operating condition: Air Dryers, Air Compressors, and all other related items and reship to locations. J. Consultation Services and engineering for air pressure systems. K. We will provide and ship products globally. We have listed some of the services which our Company provides. Introduction Our experience in Cable Pressurization Installations, Air Dryer Maintenance and Compressor Repairs began in 1959. All of our technicians are highly trained and well qualified with many years experience specifically related to Air Dryer repair and maintenance providing professional care and service. We believe our Service program to be the best in the industry and designed specifically with Cable Air Pressurization as the primary objective. Here is an outline of our “In House Repair and Return Program”: • Telco personnel calls our office to obtain an RA number and any help necessary from us to send component in for repair. • Excellent facilities for handling all incoming equipment. We maintain a very extensive line of all Air Dryer Manufactures “OEM” repair parts in stock for quick turn around time of repairs. • Step-by-step detail guide line for handling, repairing, and testing procedures to return component back to original new condition and warranted for 120-days. • All repaired Air Dryers, Compressors, Components are tested under simulated field conditions to ensure proper overall operation upon receipt and installation by Telco personnel. • In the event repairs of a Compressor or Component is found to be “excessive” we will replace with a new unit. • Compressors and Components are shipped in a heavy duty cartons which is reused for return of other components for repair and return. Here is an outline of our “On-Site Emergency/Scheduled Routine Maintenance Program”: • Telco personnel calls our office 24-hours 7-days a week to request On-Site Emergency Air Dryer Repair at the specific location. • Custom Scheduled Maintenance Program designed around the specific makes and model Air Dryers you the customer have in service. • Scheduled Maintenance Intervals can be scheduled, Quarterly, Semi-Annually or Annually based on the level of service the customer wants provided. • All specific Air Dryer Manufacture recommended maintenance procedures are followed to maintain any warranties that are still in effect as well as using “OEM” original parts. • Meet with Telco Managers and or Technicians before and after services to address any concerns or findings.

Call 800-247-7747 24-hours • All air tubing, electrical wiring is inspected and tightened and or replaced as necessary. • All alarms are test operated to verify proper operation in the event of a failure. • Back-up Systems and Dryer Cycle Kits are test operated for proper operation. • All external Dryer Piping and Supply Lines are visually inspected to ensure no leaks or potential failures. • Meet with Telco Managers and or Technicians before and after services to address any concerns or findings. In December of 2003 DETROIT SWITCH, Inc. acquired the Telephone Pressure and Flow Transducer product line from UNITED ELECTRIC CONTROLS . History of product line: Working with Bell Laboratory, United Electric designed and introduced the first Bell System pressure transducer in 1965. The aerial mounted pressure transducer offered for the first time, the ability to read actual cable pressure remotely from a central office. With the introduction of pipe systems and the growing demand for a more suitable underground transducer, United Electric, again working with Bell Telephone Laboratory, developed the first Bell System underground pressure transducer and was introduced in 1973. Due to the widespread use of pipe systems, in the late 1970’s both pressure and flow values increased. It was recognized that a pressure transducer at mid point was an excellent tool indicating a leaking condition through falling pressure but to locate the leak was not an easy task. Strategically, locating flow transducers underground, could tell the leak location by isolating increased flow areas. United Electric introduced its J4 flow transducer series in various ranges and models to accommodate both underground and central office use. PRESSURE TRANSDUCER HOUSING J59C5 and J59C10 housings are designed for use with J59F transducers and meet all specifications of AT-8773 & CA-8773. The J59C5 will accommodate from one to five J59F’s. When more than five are needed the J59C10 can take up to ten. The J59F’s can be field installed without pressure loss. PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS A pressure transducer discovers the approximate location(s) of leaks in a cable section. It detects pressure changes on a cable at the point of installation, functioning like a “C” gauge permanently installed on a cable and hooked up to a telephone line. Pressure changes are reported to the maintenance center or central office for analysis, eliminating the need for a technician to make a field trip to determine cable pressure levels. UNDERGROUND PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS The J59 underground transducers are the products of over thirty years experience in the design and manufacturing of specialized products for the telephone communication industry. Meeting all specifications of AT-8772 & CA-8772 the J59 transducers are the equivalents of “F”, “G” and “H” transducers, thousands of which are in operation today. Specifically designed for telephone monitoring, and compatible with all existing monitoring equipment, the J59’s offer the following standard versions: J59F The J59F, commonly referred to as the “F” transducer is designed to be mounted on the J59C transducer housing (previous page). It allows pressure in cables to be read remotely over 0-9.5 PSI in 0.5 steps. A sealed external adjustment allows for calibration to local elevation from sea level to 10,000 feet. The galvanized cast iron enclosure is especially suited to underground cable use.

The Type J4 passive flow transducer does not require power pair. Detroit Switch’s J4 flow transducer represents an innovative design for improved monitoring of pressurized telephone cable systems. Designed to monitor changes in air flow as small as 0.25 SCFH, the J4 flow transducer facilitates the detection of leaks in the cable system, thereby simplifying maintenance and repair of the pressurized cable system. The J4 flow transducer converts gas (air) flow to an electrical resistance signal which can be remotely read by any of the automatic monitoring systems in use today. J2 Cable Lasher - Known for Its Durability

The J2 Cable Lasher is used to lash an overhead cable or numerous cables to a supporting strand or to an existing lashed cable with stainless steel lashing wire. The J2 Lasher’s design also gives it maximum service life. The body is cylindrical to help it slip more easily through branches and obstructions. There is a built-in mechanical brake to prevent unintended reversal, an automatic drum lock for easy span transfers, an all-range tensioning device for optimum strand traction and high strength front and rear gates for tighter lashing. Will lash any single or multiple overhead cables up to 3 in. (76 mm) diameter across on any suspension strand from 1/4 in. (6 mm) to 7/16 in. (11 mm). A factory modification will allow the lasher to accommodate .535 in. (13 mm) strand if necessary. Each of two recessed magazines will hold a 1200 ft. coil of .045 in. (365 m of 1 mm wire) lashing wire (or 450 ft. of .065 in.). The Lashing Wire is fully recessed and covered by a gate. J2 Lashers make overlashing easy.
